How To Manage Hair Loss

Hair loss is one of the most common types of problem faced by people all over the world. Mostly the reason behind this is today’s stressful life. People find it hard enough to take out time for themselves and the body has to take the toll. How can one manage the hair loss then? There are many remedies, although, these are not effective in every case.

Before talking about how to manage hair loss, let us first discuss the reasons why hair loss occur. There are several reasons- sickness, medication, hair styling, hormonal imbalances, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and dandruff etc.

Hair fall due to hormonal imbalances can be controlled to some extent by taking healthy nutrients. Your diet should constitute all vital nutrients required by our body. While taking chemotherapy or radiation therapy for cancer, heavy hair fall occurs. This can be emotionally and psychologically harmful. In these cases, amount of hair loss depends on the type of drug.

Another common reason of hair fall is dandruff. Dandruff makes the root of hair weak and this leads to hair fall. It is better to meet a dermatologist who can cure it effectively. Hair fall also occurs due to excessive shampooing and blow drying your hair. While wet, the roots are more prone to be broken. So, never blow dry your hair unless you are really really short of time. Also, never brush your hair when wet. Shampoo your hair only twice a week.

Excessive dust and smoky environment also leads to hair fall. Cover your hair well while going out. If you have a habit of consuming excessive red meat, bakery products, peanuts, potato etc try to curb it. This also causes hair fall. Avoid too much of sugar, sweets, chocolates, soft drinks and pastries.

Not getting enough sleep also causes hair fall. Ensure that you complete a good six to eight hours of sleep everyday. Refresh your mind and body. In case you are having too much hair thinning, do not delay seeing a professional. Only an expert can guide you best.

There are several reasons behind hair fall. Before starting with a treatment, it is important to diagnose the exact reason behind it. The treatment varies depending on the actual cause. Therefore, it is advisable to see a professional in case of excessive hair fall. This will ensure that you get the right treatment.

Advantages With the Digital Ear Thermometer

I discovered the necessity of having a thermometer in the house after my daughter was born. One of the first things to do when a baby seems unwell is to check their temperature. My family doctor told me that digital ear thermometers took the most accurate reading,so I decided to purchase a thermometer. Before that,I have so many online stores, and I bought this at thirty pounds. However, the retail shoes are selling these thermometers around thirty five pounds, what a difference.

When I first got mine home,I found myself hesitant to put it in my new baby’s delicate little ear.I was scared of causing damage to her ear drum. The readings always seemed to be a little lower than I expected, and I wondered, because I am thinking that I was not using it properly. After studying the proper instruction,I am able to get the perfect readings.

When it comes to designing,it is nicely designed. And it comes in a plastic storage case with a clear lid through which can be seen the thermometer and ear probe covers slotted in side by side. The thermometer itself is white with two purple buttons and fits snugly in the hand, the probe and tapers away at an angle. There is on and off button next to the LCD display and a start button.

There are many advantages with this digital ear thermometer,it is possible to look back through the last twelve reading which is useful for giving an idea of how well the temperature is being kept under control. It is also important for parents who may be stressed and forgetful. It is easy to get mixed up when you are worried,so it is good to re-confirm the reading and as well to be able to give this information to health workers if necessary.

However, there are many types of thermometers are available in the present market, and it is difficult for parents to know what the best is.At this I would like to say that this is probably one of the best out there. It is more useful and accurate readings. For more information and details, please do not hesitate to visit the following website.

Otolaryngology is the branch of medicine

Otolaryngology is the branch of medicine that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, throat, and head and neck disorders. Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States.

What do otolaryngologists treat?

Otolaryngologists diagnose and manage diseases of the sinuses, larynx (voice box), oral cavity, and upper pharynx (mouth and throat), as well as structures of the neck and face, as well as many ENT primary care problems in both children and adults.

• The ears—The unique domain of otolaryngologists is the treatment of ear disorders. They are trained in both the medical and surgical treatment of hearing, ear infections, balance disorders, ear noise, nerve pain, and facial and cranial nerve disorders. Otolaryngologists also manage congenital disorders of the outer and inner ear.

• The nose—Sinusitis is one of the most common respiratory problem in America. Care of the nasal cavity and sinuses is one of the primary skills of otolaryngologists. Management of the nasal area includes allergies and sense of smell. Breathing through, and the appearance of, the nose are also part of otolaryngologists’ expertise.

• The throat—Communicating and eating a meal all involve this vital area. Also specific to otolaryngologists is expertise in managing diseases of the larynx (voice box) and the upper aero-digestive tract or esophagus, including voice and swallowing disorders.

• The head and neck—This center of the body includes the important nerves that control sight, smell, hearing, and the face. In the head and neck area, otolaryngologists are trained to treat infectious diseases, both benign and malignant (cancerous) tumors, facial trauma, and deformities of the face. They perform both cosmetic plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Otolaryngology Fields of Experties

• Otology/Neurotology: diseases of the ear, including trauma (injury), cancer, and nerve pathway disorders, which affect hearing and balance.

• Pediatric Otolaryngology: diseases in children with special ENT problems including birth defects of the head and neck and developmental delays.

• Head and Neck: cancerous and noncancerous tumors in the head and neck, including the thyroid and parathyroid.

• Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery: cosmetic, functional, and reconstructive surgical treatment of abnormalities of the face and neck.

• Rhinology: disorders of the nose and sinuses.

• Laryngology: disorders of the throat, including voice and swallowing problems.

• Allergy: treatment by medication, immunotherapy (allergy shots) and/or avoidance of pollen, dust, mold, food, and other sensitivities that affect the ear, nose, and throat.

Why should I see an otolaryngologist?

These specialists differ from many physicians in that they are trained in both medicine and surgery. Otolaryngologists do not need to refer patients to other physicians when ear, nose, throat, or head/neck surgery is needed and, therefore, can offer the most appropriate care for each individual patient. Therefore, otolaryngologists are the most appropriate physicians to treat disorders of the ears, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck.

Ice Treatment (Cryotherapy) as a Pain Relief

Ice Treatment
Ice is an important and natural treatment with many advantages. It is an effective painkiller which can be applied to the injured area, giving instant relief. Ice also prevents excess swelling or inflammation developing. This helps to restore full mobility faster and prevents scar tissue formation, helping an injury to heal up to 75% quicker.

How injury causes inflammation
Ligaments, muscles and tendons have elastic properties due to a protein called collagen. If they are over-stretched (such as a sprain during exercise, or because of an accident), the collagen and local blood vessels tear. Blood and fluid then escapes into the spaces among the injured fibres, resulting in a build-up of fluid. The body releases histamine to help bring nutrients to repair the tissues, which makes the blood vessels dilate even further. Unfortunately, this creates an excess inflammation or swelling as the fluid around the injury stagnates. Because the blood circulation is hampered, toxins are released due to lack of oxygen. This results in pain and (often) further muscle spasm and scar tissue soon starts to form. The excess inflammation must be cleared from the site of injury before the toxins can be removed and nutrients can return, allowing the healing process to begin properly. (Inflammation may be visible on the surface of the skin as a swollen bruised area, but will not show if it is deep inside the body.)

How Ice Treatment (Cryotherapy) works on an injury
As soon as inflammation starts, ice treatment can be highly effective. By decreasing the flow of fluid into the injured tissues, it allows the blood to circulate, which helps to remove the toxins. Fresh oxygen is able to reach the injury and the release of chemicals that cause pain and inflammation slows down. Nutrients reach the torn fibres and help to repair the area. Reducing the swelling and internal bleeding prevents the development of excess scar tissue that can cause permanent muscle, ligament or joint restrictions. Ice acts as a painkiller by reducing the ability of the nerve endings to conduct impulses and by reducing toxic build-up. Cooling the deep tissue also reduces muscle spasm and helps restore mobility in the joints.

Indications for Ice Treatment
Ice is indicated for acute injuries where inflammation occurs such as Bursitis, Tendonitis, Myositis, or Neuritis and can be excellent following a heat burn. In the treatment of acute lower back pain and other joint strains, applying ice can be vital to help reduce the deep swelling that occurs at the site of injury and to help reduce the discomfort that may occur following adjustment, manipulation or deep massage.

How to use Ice
Ice is applied directly to the swollen or painful area. Wrap a towel (preferably damp) around the ice pack to avoid direct ice to skin contact, as ice burns can occur. Keep all untreated parts of the body covered and warm. If you are cold-sensitive, wrap the ice in a dry towel. A fully wet towel is more effective but vary the dampness to suit. A few ice cubes can simply be used but a gel pack is ‘pliable when frozen, giving better surface contact and is simple to refreeze. Occasionally an ice cube may be massaged directly onto a small area of pain, using a constant circular motion as the water can insulate the skin and prevent burning but please use this method with caution.

Chiropractic Consultant

Dear Doctor,

I am a chiropractic consultant. My program introduced here shows you how to successfully market to and treat thyroid conditions, fibromylagia, ADD/ADHD/AUTISM, dizziness, peripheral neurophathy, insomnia, MS, diabetes, stroke victims, Alzheimers, migraines, IBS and others.

You know insurance continues to pay less and with Obamacare coming down the pike, things are going to get even worse!

I offer 4 different levels in my program along with generous payment plans. Look…it’s not the cost of my program that you should consider BUT the return on investment (ROI). Many doctors in my program are collecting $5,000 to $10,000 case fees. If you pay me $5,000 or $10,000 but I show you how to collect another $500,000 to $1 million/year…IS IT WORTH IT?

Heck, there is one group out there that will show you how to treat only 3 conditions (tyroid, IBS & diabetes) and they charge $450 for their “Discovery Day”, $10,000 to sign up, and $2500/month there after..I will show you how to successfully market to and treat these conditions and more!

There is a chiropractic “franchise” out there that charges $30,000 to sign up and 7% of your collections..many of their “franchisees” have joined my program AFTER they have signed up with the franchise. Many have told me that they would have found my program BEFORE the franchise.

Finally, there are other programs that only show you how to treat on chronic condition…why go with ONLY ONE??? Why limit yourself?

HOW MANY DOCTOR TESTIMONIALS WILL IT TAKE BEFORE YOU JOIN MY PROGRAM?

Heart diseases and its preventions

Today, heart diseases have become frequent among people and it is the leading cause of death in the world. It also causes disability and with the growing of age your chances of heart diseases increase. However, in some cases heart diseases have occurred even at an early age of an individual.   Different factors contribute to heart diseases, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and overweight, smoking, gender, heredity and physical inactivity.

With the course of time, there has been a significant progress in the preventions of heart diseases. New- developments and discoveries in medicine have controlled the fatalities in heart diseases, though the treatment of heart diseases is expensive. Men are more prone to heart diseases than women. For men who are over 45 and women above 55, are at greater risk of heart attacks and diseases. Heredity is also an important cause for it and such people are the most vulnerable to heart diseases.

“Prevention is better than cure” rightly applies here also.  It is seen if you take proper measurements and follow a rigorous schedule, you could live a healthy life. Listed below are some of the major preventions of heart diseases,

Eat healthy nutritious food

A healthy nutritious food is very essential in heart diseases; it helps to lower blood pressure and cholesterol.  Keep away from fatty and spicy foods like-butter, cream and burgers etc. one must include fresh vegetables and fruits in his diet and lower added salt or sodium in his food habits. Obesity and diabetes can also be prevented if you rightly follow a nutritious healthy diet.

Control high blood cholesterol

It is very important to control the high cholesterol; to do this you should take a diet which is low in saturated fat and cholesterol but high in fiber. Maintain a regular weight and exercise regularly. If you an adult, it is advised to get your cholesterol checked once in every five years. If your doctor finds your cholesterol level high, he would prescribe you certain medicines to keep it controlled.

Control diabetes

People who have diabetes are at great risk of heart stroke. Hence, keep a check on your diabetes by exercising regularly and following a sugar free diet. Stress also contributes to heart attack; keep away from anxieties and tensions.

Quit smoking

Smoking is fatal in heart diseases as it increases high blood pressure and stroke. Simply quit smoking and tobacco to lead a healthy life. Your risk of heart attack decreases with quitting of smoking and tobacco.

Weight

An overweight person is quite prone to heart diseases. Overweight causes heart to work harder and put an intense pressure on the vital muscle. Hence, maintain your weight by physical activities and eating rich fresh foods and fluids. Drink at-least 8 to 10 glasses of water everyday. Increase the intake of fresh fruits and vegetables. People who are inactive and follow no healthy routine often become over-weight which later invites heart diseases and several health issues.

Avoid coffee and heavy drinking.

Excessive intake of Coffee and drinks block the arteries and restrict the smooth flow of blood, which leads to heart-stroke. Thus, lower the intake of these harmful fluids in your life. The other cause of heart diseases occurs in those people who have a bad temper and tend to aggressive very quickly. Such people run at high risk of heart diseases.

Allergy 101: Treatment and Prevention According to Allergists

What is an allergy? An allergist would define it to be the abnormal reaction of a patient’s immune system when in contact with foreign substances. Normally, these foreign substances, also called allergens, are harmless and pose no threat to non-allergic people. But if you are allergic to a particular allergen, you body can react inappropriately when these substances are swallowed, inhaled and come into direct contact with the skin. Often times, allergies manifest in different ways including constant sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes or having rashes or hives. The most common allergens include pollens, dust, molds, or animal fur. Even foods such as peanuts, eggs, milk, soy, wheat or even fruits can cause bad allergic reactions for some people. If you are experiencing allergies, it is best to see an allergist to know more on how to treat and prevent these allergic disorders.

Medications Prescribed by Allergists When dealing with allergies, drug medications are helpful in decreasing the symptoms and restoring the health of the patient. Allergists commonly prescribe antihistamines to block the actions of histamine, which is responsible for triggering allergic symptoms. Decongestants are effective in clearing out the clogged sinuses. Steroids are also used to mute the inflammatory response. Other medications such as nasal sprays or eye drops are also helpful in relieving symptoms.

An important note to remember when using any drug medication, always follow the instructions of your allergist. These drugs, when not taken properly, can have adverse side effects on your body. So take your medications as prescribed and avoid self-medication. Monitor your condition while taking medication to see if it’s effective in relieving the symptoms.

Preventing Allergies According to an Allergist If you are wary of taking in drugs because of possible side effects, completely avoiding the allergen is another way of controlling or preventing allergies. Here are some tips highly recommended by an allergist to prevent allergies. If you are allergic to pollens, stay indoors and keep windows closed especially during the windy and heavy pollination season. For those with food allergies, avoid eating foods that trigger allergic reactions. You might also want to check out food labels before eating them. If you are allergic to animal dander, avoid pets with fur or feathers such as cats, dogs and birds. But if you’re an animal lover, consider keeping your pets outside the house. It is also important to keep your house clean from dust and molds at all times.

Most of the time, it is impossible to completely avoid contact with these allergens. Because of this, allergists are also recommending another effective way of preventing allergies – allergen immunotherapy. This process begins by injecting the patient with large doses of an allergen with the purpose of inducing immunologic tolerance. While other forms of treatment merely suppress allergic symptoms, allergen immunotherapy treats the underlying cause of the disorder. Studies show that patients who underwent this treatment have reduced need for medication, lesser symptoms and lower sensitivity to allergens.

What Is Tinnitus?

For those who have visited Madison Square Garden in the New York City to hear Beethoven’s Symphony No.5 in C minor on a New Year’s Eve, the music must have remained with them for a few brief minutes even after it had stopped playing in the vast arena. Well, this is quite normal. Beethoven’s composition lingers long in the ears after the music has actually stopped. But if that continues till the next morning and persists thereafter that calls for a medical check up which will invariably diagnose it as a case of Tinnitus. And there is nothing outstanding or exceptional about it since millions of Americans suffer from Tinnitus and they keep suffering since no cure for tinnitus has yet been found.

Even though the word has been derived from the Latin expression tinnitus, which means ‘ringing’, the sound heard by the affected person vary a lot. It may range from hissing, whooshing, ticking, clicking to humming, droning, whining and buzzing. In short, it is enough to drive a person crazy, looking for relief from pillar to post.

What is Tinnitus and what are its various types?

Clinically speaking, tinnitus represents any ringing or buzzing in the ear not resulting from an external stimulus. However, there are several forms of tinnitus, each one of them capable of thoroughly disrupting the life of the patient. There is subjective tinnitus where the ringing or the wheezing is heard by the patient alone and objective tinnitus in which the doctor can also hear the noise by using acoustic instruments. Some of these are unilateral (can be heard in one ear) or bilateral where it is heard in both the ears. Persons suffering from Pulsatile Tinnitus can hear their own heartbeats while Somatic Tinnitus resonances lie outside the ear, probably beyond the cochlear nerves and is believed to arise from central crosstalk within the grey matters. Chronic Sinusitis Tinnitus could be a nasty customer, being caused by thickened mucus trapped within the middle ear space from which it is difficult to drain the mucus out.

Here are some of the underlying causes of tinnitus…

Atherosclerotic Carotid Artery Disease in which the arteries become narrowed due to heavy cholesterol buildup that result in uneven blood flow to the head and neck area. This gives rise to agonizing heartbeat sounds that can be heard in the ears of the tinnitus patient. Mostly associated with elderly patients having history of diabetes, hypertension, angina pectoris as well as persistent high blood pressure.

Providing Continuity of Care for Mental Illness Patients Beyond Hospital Discharge

A strong family and caregiver support system is important to the continued treatment of mental health patients after they leave the hospital. In fact, it is critical in assisting with medication adherence to ensure consumers appear for their appointments with service providers, particularly during transition between inpatient and outpatient settings. However, when discussing family support systems, some physicians contest that less than half of consumers have an “adequate” social support system to meet their daily needs.

Because a strong family support system cannot be “manufactured” or bought through funding, it is important to focus on other controllable issues that can create a positive impact on the continuity of care for mental illness patients. A recent mental health study identified three factors that positively influence the efficiency of the transition process between inpatient facility discharge and intake with a community-based program.

These include:

* when communication occurs “within system”
* when computer systems/consumer records are shared
* when an ACT (or similar) team is involved

Of course, in addition to having a strong family and care support, there are other issues involved. Public policy and government funding are two particularly impactful issues. From a mental healthcare systems perspective, matters involving policy and financing issues impacting continuity of care can be conceptualized along two broad approaches:

1.) Building service coordination into the payment rates and expectations for certain services.

This approach is conceptually similar to what is referred to as Primary Care Case Management in some disease management or chronic care programs.

2.) Defining certain consultation and care coordination services as covered benefits.

Under the first approach, consultation and care coordination would be a defined benefit with its own billing codes and defined coverage limits, eligible providers, allowed situations, and limitations and exclusions. For example, situations where this might be applicable include: hospital discharge planning and short-term transition support; developmental transitions (e.g. child to adult); coordination between primary care and mental health providers; consultation with primary care; consultation with other professionals to implement treatment plans (e.g. schools, residential programs); clinical coordination among multi-disciplinary teams, especially home-based services.

Under the second approach, coordination of care is built into “programs of mental healthcare” or episodes of care. This concept is seen in current disease management models and chronic care models and can include: assertive community treatment, multi-systemic therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Hospital payment methods assume linkage with step-down, aftercare, and outpatient services, similar conceptually to Medicare Part A that covers hospital stays and 100 days of nursing home or home health rehabilitation as follow-up, when necessary.

Believing in UV Sterilization

Ultraviolet sterilization is great for some, but not all. Each home has different needs. You can have chlorinated water and still have the need for uv sterilization. Microorganisms are the cause of many diseases. Bacteria, fungi, and green algae – all things we can’t see – put your water supply at risk and amplify the need for sterilization.

Ultraviolet light water treatment isn’t new to fighting microorganisms, but too few people take advantage of the technology. Microorganisms – potential disease-producers – are the main concern. These are of five types: (1) bacteria, (2) protozoa, (3) worms, (4) viruses, and (5) fungi. The presence of these organisms in various strains can lead to such infectious diseases as These three fevers, typhoid, undulant, tularemia, plus dysentery, cholera, jaundice, hepatitis, as well as other diseases which spread through drinking unsafe water.

Uv sterilization is one of the very best tools for taking control of the situation. If you are buying bottled water, that’s probably a good sign that your home could benefit from UV water treatment. Treating your whole house water system has an extra benefit by keep the plumbing clear of problem pathogens by passing a high energy ultraviolet light through the water, sterilizing it all the way. With these organisms destroyed you will have pure drinking water.

One of the keys to all water purity is the careful maintenance of our water supply. The use of a good pre-filter is a must and changing it regularly is a must. This alone won’t complete the task of water purification, but it is the first step in ensuring drinkable water. The final and I believe one of the most important if not the most important step of all Uv sterilization. Those that are using this system speak out very enthusiastically about purity of the water they use.

Over the Counter Yeast Infection Test and Treatment

When dealing with a yeast infection or its symptoms, the best thing to do is consult a doctor or a specialist immediately. But for women who prefer to keep things to themselves before having a doctor check their intimate parts, as having vaginal infections are a little embarrassing for most, over the counter tests are readily available for your use. Over the counter yeast infection tests are not 100% reliable, though they have been tested to give a fairly accurate result. The results are not as accurate as professional consultation, but these over the counter yeast infection tests are very much affordable and are user-friendly for easier use. After using over the counter yeast infection tests for pre-consultation result, consumers are still advised to get professional opinion and consult the doctor.

After having a check-up, or using over the counter yeast infection tests, it is best to take or undergo natural remedies as they do not have unnecessary side effects. Over the counter yeast infection medicine and treatment are available, such as ointments to help stop vaginal yeast infection. These ointments are usually available as over the counter yeast infection remedies, but some of them require the doctor’s prescription. Some over the counter yeast infection medicines can be directly applied on the infected area, while some need medicines and creams in order to be applied effectively inside the vagina. People who have used over the counter yeast infection ointments have commented and registered experiencing painful, burning sensations through the night due to allergic reactions to the ointment. This is also a little uncomfortable to use due to unwanted outflow that will be experienced, as some over the counter yeast infection ointment consumers have reported. Suppositories, another kind of over the counter yeast infection medicine, are also available with directions on the container. These are inserted into the vagina to treat infection. These over the counter yeast infection medicines have side effects, so before using over the counter yeast infection remedies, make sure you have the correct diagnosis of having a vaginal yeast infection or else it will make things more complicated.

Men can also use over the counter yeast infection ointments that are intended for women. They are labeled as such because women are more susceptible to having yeast infections. The bacteria that cause yeast infections for women are the same bacteria that infect men, so the medication for women can also be used for men. Over the counter yeast infection ointment can be applied on the penis and on the infected area. It is also highly advisable for men who have yeast infections to keep clean underwear on. It has been found that the most common yeast infections for men are caused by warm, moist, and unclean areas of the body.

These statements are derived from scientific studies on the over the counter yeast infection treatments, but it does not ensure accurate prescription. It is still best to buy medicine under the doctor’s supervision.

Use hair loss treatments for your hair fall

The normal hair loss per day is around 100 to 150, and it is a commonly found problem around the world. Normal hair loss is nothing to bother about but excessive hair loss can cause big concern and anxiety.   According to a study, it is obvious to lose hair as we grow older and this normal ageing process is called Androgenetic Alopecia and when this problem runs in the family then it is known as genetic problem. This problem is generally found in males.  In men, hair loss results in male pattern baldness on the top of head and receding hair line, if not taken proper care and hair loss treatments, men can also go bald. Whereas in women, it results in hair thinning and hair loss spreads all over the scalp but there is no baldness.

Today, you would different types of hair loss treatments available in the market and hair loss treatments for men and women are different. Hormones play a crucial role in hair loss problems and since the hormones in male and female differ from each other so hair loss treatments are also different. Mentioned below are some of the top hair loss treatments, which can stop your hair fall to a great extent

One of the major reasons for hail loss is improper diet and stress. One should take a healthy diet in order to prevent hair fall. You should take balanced diet with protein rich food and avoid excessive intake of carbohydrate and fats. Vitamins like B, C, D and E play a crucial role in your hair growth. Food rich in iron, calcium, magnesium and zinc are also necessary for hair. Stay away from stress and anxiety which can cause severe hair loss and follow a regular exercise routine.

Minoxidil also called DHT inhibitor is also a useful hair loss treatment, but it is more beneficial for men. It helps to reduce hair loss and enhance the scalp and hair follicles so that new hair can re-grow. It is quite valuable to treat the hair loss on the crown and less effective in frontal region, therefore, not recommended for women.

You could also find a great help in Ayurveda for hair loss treatments. You should use natural shampoos and soaps for cleaning your hair and simply avoid chemical rich shampoos. Shampoo rich in Amala and Shikakai is very effective during your hair fall. Also massage your scalp with natural oil like coconut and olive oil once a week or so.

Provillus is a beneficiary hair loss treatment and combines of all natural herbal supplement and a topical liquid solution Minoxidil. It is helpful for both men and women hair loss of all ages and race. It supplies needed nutrients to the body which results in hair re-growth.

Another top hair loss treatment in the market is Propecia and is recommended for men than women.  However, elderly women many use these tablets but it would not give desired results. It is absolutely not advisable for pregnant women due to its side effects.

One could also go for surgical treatments for excessive hair loss. It is also known as transplant and both men and women can go for it. This is however an expensive hair loss treatment.

The other way to stop your hair loss is to use natural shampoos rich in vitamins and herbs like biotin and saw palmetto. They strengthen your strands and stimulate follicles.

Treating Head Lice with Home Remedies

Is your kid constantly scratching his head? Is his scalp filled with white flakes that won’t seem to come off? Your kid might have head lice! Don’t worry; it’s so common almost everybody gets it at some point in their lives. What you have to worry about is what is commonly prescribed as the best solutions for head lice. Leading brands of anti-lice shampoo like Nix is in actuality nothing more than pesticide with a recommendation from the American Academy of Pediatrics. All these chemicals can have a very bad effect on your child’s skin, especially if he’s sensitive or allergic to it. But commercial chemical treatment is not the only effective treatment to head lice. You can try your hand at some alternative treatments that can prove to be a little less damaging than chemicals.

The first alternative would be to hunt down the lice one at a time. Just pick them off like the monkeys do (eating them however is optional…). If you find your fingers to be too big to get the small ones, use tweezers or special lice combs. This can be a too manual for some. It may take days of regular repetition to get the lice out with this method.

You can also try using mayonnaise, olive oil, or Vaseline on your kids scalp. Just leave it in the kid’s hair under a shower cap for a night then remove it in the morning and the lice should come clean off along with it. Vinegar can be used to help in the removal and has the added bonus of making it harder for nits or lice eggs to stay in the hair. This can be a bit messy though and your kid might not like you too much after this.

There is also an alternative non-pesticide shampoo available through prescription. Ulesfia is used much like shampoo, applied directly to the hair. It is left on for about ten minutes before rinsing. This is also an effective lice remover if applied properly and regularly for a week. Just ask your doctor for a prescription for it.

Some have also claimed to use herbal products, like those taken from tree oils or other natural oils. These are not regulated by the FDA though and have to be used at your own risk as their effectiveness has yet to be proven extensively.

You may not be able to prevent head lice, but you can minimize the risk to your child. Lice are spread through direct contact, as they have neither jumping nor flying capabilities. They can be spread through the sharing of combs, hats, hair ties, clips and head bands and other head or hair accessories. By instructing your child to try to avoid this, you can prevent infestation on some level. You can also have your kid try hair gel as this can also make it difficult for lice to get at the scalp.

One important note: always make sure that your kid actually has lice before you start treating for it! As you can see, the treatments are numerous but often involve some sacrifice on your kid’s part. Don’t put your kid through all that if you’re not sure.

Allergies and its Complications

Allergies Having seasonal allergies is no fun. Runny nose, swollen throat, watery eyes and itchy skin rashes are only some of the many symptoms that can manifest themselves during an allergy attack. There are times when allergies are no more than a nuisance, or a distraction or minor interruption to one’s daily routine. But there are instances when these attacks can take ahold of you for far too long, and it diminishes the quality of your life. They can also be life threatening. Allergists are specialists who can help you with complications arising from your allergies.

But how do we get allergies in the first place? Your body may exhibit a special kind of sensitivity to any external factor in your surroundings. For example, when you become affected by dust particles, pollen, or pet hairs, and you experience the symptoms mentioned above, your allergies may be caused by the particles that affected you. Specific food and medication can also induce allergy attacks. Allergists can properly identify your allergens (the main trigger of your attacks) and help you deal with these appropriately.

Complications There are severe cases of allergies that can be deadly. These are called anaphylaxis. Any type of allergen can trigger an attack that produces shortness of breath, palpitation, and significant swelling. When the airways become blocked, and the attack lasts for a while, this becomes a very serious problem. Emergency care is needed, and should be brought to the attention of doctors, preferably an allergist. Other complications of allergies include chronic sinusitis, asthma and hives. Chronic sinusitis is the inflammation of the sinuses where nasal congestion, headache and other related symptoms are experienced for a long while (or they keep coming back). Asthma is the blockage of the airways, making a person unable to breathe properly. Hives are swollen, red itchy skin bumps that can cause severe irritation, a burning sensation, some stinging, and even scratch marks.

Solutions A most helpful way to get rid of allergies is to get rid of, or avoid your allergens. This is a very simple solution that people usually turn to. For food allergens, you just need to be careful when dining out. For drugs that cause your allergies, talk to your doctor (you don’t even need your allergist here) for alternative medications. For environmental allergens like dust and such, cleaning up is a good way of eliminating these irritants. You can sweep the floors, vacuum carpets, use air purifiers, etc. But when there are uncontrollable external factors, you can then turn to medications. Antihistamines are the most popularly used drugs for relieving you of allergies. More sophisticated ways of dealing with allergies, especially severe ones, can be provided by your allergist.

Treating a Yeast Infection

Infection’ brings to mind ghastly scenarios. There is a tendency to imagine the worst and conjure up incurable diseases, and a panic at having it cured effectively without side effects. Similarly, treating a yeast infection might bring to mind aggressive courses of treatment. Generally, it is easy treating a yeast infection. Even better than treating a yeast infection would be to know all about yeast infections and know ways to prevent it. After all, prevention of yeast infections is better than treating a yeast infection.

Yeast is nothing but a fungus that lies dormant, and sometimes it multiplies. This fungus lives in our bodies along with other bacteria. This would be the good bacteria that help to destroy the yeast. If good bacteria or antibiotics cannot destroy the yeast, there is every possibility that the yeast will take over. Treating a yeast infection becomes imperative.

There are many causes for a yeast infection and quite a few for treating a yeast infection. A low immunity quotient caused by stress or poor nutrition, or illness or chronic diseases could both cause yeast infections. Chronic diseases could head the list of causes that trigger the yeast infection. It is very important for you to keep track of your immunity levels and shore it up on an ongoing basis. A strong immune system is one way of treating a yeast infection.

Treating a Yeast infection like all other infections would be a mistake if you are pregnant. As it is, pregnant women have a lot of hormonal imbalances to contend with. Your body may be more susceptible to yeast infections at this time. Treating a yeast infection orally needs to be taken with an extra dose of caution or avoided if possible. External applications such as creams, ointments, and lotions are far better suited to treating a yeast infection in pregnant women. It must also be kept in mind that treating a yeast infection immediately and effectively is imperative so as to not affect the unborn child.

For treating a yeast infection, take medical advice and avoid self medication. You may confuse yourself with the symptoms otherwise. Yeast infections may be similar to other fungal or viral infections. Treating a yeast infection on the other hand will require a consultation with your doctor at the earliest.

Treating a yeast infection ranges from home remedies to the modern medicines available on the market. Keep certain factors in mind before you embark upon any treatment: safety, being the most important. If there is any doubt as to the safety, do not take a chance; avoid it. Do some research, talk to medical practitioners, and equally important, find out if it is a treatment that is easily available and convenient to use. Opt for treating a yeast infection with a remedy that has been proven.

Trueye Contact Lenses – Truly Evolved Contacts

Whenever you go to a store to buy Trueye contact lenses, did you ever wonder about the origin of contact lenses? In all probability you did not, but then most of us never did; so here is some interesting trivia that is worthy of note.

Simply put, a contact lens, also called a contact, is a therapeutic lens placed on the cornea of the eye. People opt for contacts for several reasons, cosmetic grounds being one of them. We all know that regular spectacles can be cumbersome. People find contact lenses have a wider field of vision. There are several other advantages as well. Some eye conditions like keratoconus and anisekonia are better corrected with contacts than with spectacles. Well-known brand names like, Trueye contact lenses will list a host of advantages of such corrective lenses.

The story behind the origin of these lenses is very interesting. History says the credit goes to the archetype Renaissance man of Italy, Leonardo da vinci. Vinci was the first person who in 1508 described with sketches, what contacts will look like. That was way back and the human race had to wait for another 300 years before glass contacts were was actually made. However, you must note that soft lenses like Acuvue trueye contact lenses that are popular today are very different from what people wore back in the nineteenth century. To appreciate this aspect, here is a brief chronology of the evolution of contacts.

* Sir John Herschel an English astronomer in 1827 first conceived the idea of making a mold of lenses that can perfectly fit a human eye. However, it was in 1887 that German glass blower F.A. Muller pioneered the creation of the first glass contact.
* A French ophthalmologist, Kalt and a Swiss doctor A.E.Fick were the first persons who created glass contacts to correct nearsightedness and far sightedness. The glasses however were too heavy and the wearer could tolerate them for only a few hours.
* New York optometrist William Feinbloom in 1936 introduced plastics in the use of glass manufacturing. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s hard plastic contact glasses gradually evolved to become thinner and smaller similar to the design you see today.
* Despite consistent and regular improvements hard contact glasses did not catch the fancy of many a wearer. People did not find then comfortable.
* Evolution of soft lens revolutionized the contact glass industry. Czechoslovakian chemists Otto Wichterle and Drahoslav Lim experimented with the possibility of making glass contacts by using hydroxyethyl methacrylate, a soft water absorbing plastic.
* Dr. Wichterle finally tasted success when Bausch & Lomb introduced the first commercially manufactured glass contacts in 1971.
* Introduction of soft lenses was a turning point in eyeglass contacts wear. No wonder more than 90 percent of glass contacts worn in the developed world today are made of soft lenses. The advanced soft lenses available from firms like Johnson and Johnson Trueye contact lenses have features like visibility tint, improved hydration, deposit resistance and UV protection.

These are the days of well-informed marketing. There are whole ranges of retailers marketing a wide range of online discount lenses. Nevertheless, remember eye health is important and it is wise to choose carefully. It will do well for you to stick to well-known firms like Trueye contact lenses.

Realize Your Goals for the Future by Releasing the Past

At the start of a new year, resolutions are often made to change our lives such as losing weight, exercising, changing careers, healing physically, going back to school or renewing/restoring relationships. New goals keep us on the path of growth, and this time of year is great for making a fresh start. However, when it comes to achieving our goals, many of us are our own worst enemy. Before long, negative self-talk sets in such as, “I’ve always been like this” “it runs in my family” “it will take a long time to switch careers” “my marriage will never heal” “I can’t forgive him” etc. Whether conscious or not, the self-talk which runs in our minds will determine if we achieve our goals. If we do not clear the negative thoughts and emotions out first, then we will eventually talk ourselves out of our goals and sabotage our efforts.

Negative thoughts and emotions are usually based on past experience and old beliefs. What we often do not realize is that the past has as much to do with the present and the future as we allow it. Holding on to past disappointments, fear, and anger, can feel like it is protecting us from fear and feeling unloved in the present. In reality, it only makes us stuck and unable to move on to where we really want to be in life. While we consciously understand this concept and may have “forgiven” or moved on logically, many people still feel an energetic emotional sludge which holds them stuck in life. When we are emotionally stuck, our goals always seem out of reach, or we get in our own way of achieving them. Negative thoughts and emotional energy also disrupt the chi or life force and physical symptoms eventually manifest. If you have a health issue and have tried medical and alternative medical techniques without significant improvement, there is likely an emotional root to your physical symptoms. In my work with clients, I use kinesiology or muscle testing to determine if there is an emotional root to the physical disruption of the body’s energy. While I do recommend nutritional supplements, detoxification and lifestyle changes during sessions, often the majority of the hour session is dedicated to rebalancing the body’s energy system through the Emotional Freedom Technique, color light therapy, flower essences and spiritual counseling. Healing emotional wounds and clearing negative emotions such as fear, feeling unloved, and feeling unworthy opens the door to allow loving relationships, better self-care, prosperity, health and more space for God in your heart.

By supporting the physical body nutritionally and releasing negative emotional energy, healing happens if the client is motivated to change, especially if they have done a lot of prior spiritual work. Clients then feel free to pursue their hopes and dreams because they have released the toxic emotional energy and negative self-talk which was getting in their way. While diet, exercise and sleep are vitally important to the physical body, exclusively focusing on the physical body via diet and exercise ignores the 24/7 biochemical factory produced in your body by emotions and thoughts through neuropeptides. The internal chemistry produced by your thought and emotional life has a huge impact on your physical health, energy level and motivation. For example, I often I see clients with a health history of endocrine issues. While nutritional supplements and glandular therapy can help support the body, it is not addressing the underlying emotional cause. Releasing toxic emotions enables the body to respond in a healthier way.

In order to enjoy our lives and achieve our goals, we need to get out of our own way and resolve emotional conflicts about ourselves, our relationships and release the past. The combination of Emotional Freedom Technique, flower essences, color therapy, spiritual counseling and nutritional support accelerate emotional healing so that we are free to pursue our hopes and dreams.

American Alternative Medical and Holistic Health Boards, certified traditional naturopath, emotional freedom technique practitioner and Christian spiritual counselor who also uses muscle release testing, dietary supplements, and essential oils for emotional release.

The Reason for Obesity Getting Back to fast track to fat loss

The Reason for Obesity
Let’s face it. Who wants to be fat, especially women. It is a known fact that obesity in this country has become an epidemic. Why? If you look at TV, you will notice the media is constantly bombarding us with ads about food. Why are advertising agencies flooding us with so many TV commercials about food, especially about McDonald’s or Burger King? The simple fact is they want you to get fat so you will go out and spend more money on diet pills. This way you can get skinny and then start all over by going back to the fast food joints to get fat again. It is a catch-22 scenario. It is a vicious cycle.

Understand one fact. The heath condition of the majority of people in developed nations has deteriorated to such an extent that it has literally become a crisis. According to experts, about 70% of the adult population living in the U.S is overweight. This means if you are thin and healthy you make up the minority.

This is a sad fact and something that needs to change. To think that the normal way to live is to be out of shape, overweight, and have all kinds of diseases? It is insanity. To think that nine out of ten people are obese is a bad stat. And this is what this country is leading to.

Why is this country leaning toward getting fat? It is because most of us live sedentary lives. Kids are not spending their time running around and playing games outside. Instead, they jump on their video games or spend time surfing the Internet and chatting with friends or others.

Besides the above, people are getting fatter because of the way they eat. They try to grab something quick and end up eating something they should not. Everything that is bought from the store is processed. It is refined. Most foods are packed with chemicals to preserve them for shelf life. We live in a fast-paced world. For this reason people claim they don’t have time to cook or are too tired to. So they grab quick junk foods from corner stores, fast food joints, and restaurants.

The plain and simple fact is that people have become lazy. In order to get out of that, you need to push yourself to maintain your control. You have to ac t responsibly.

The solution to being overweight is simple. Make smarter food choices, prepare your own meals, and get out and exercise. If you do this, you won’t have to worry about being fat.
